With just one week left to the start of the Premiership season time is almost up for clubs to sign new players to feature in their season opener starting eleven. Here are a few stories that have happened this week and a few which may happen soon.

Finally, Ronaldo is staying at Manchester United. This is good news for Man Utd fans, bad news for Chelsea fans as Real Madrid are unlikely to let Robinho go now that Ronaldo is staying in England even though they've signed Van der Vaart ... and GREAT news for everyone else as we can finally stop talking about him in our rumour roundup blog!!!

Other ongoing sagas from last week (for all those insomniacs out there):
YAWN!! Gareth Barry's move from Aston Villa to Liverpool could still be on (depends on what paper you read) ... but it sounds like Liverpool have bigger financial fish to fry right now, like funding the new stadium and re-financing existing loans that the Barry move would only take place if Rafa can raise the cash required by selling other players ... which he seems reluctant to do.

YAWN!! Andrei Arshavin's is still desperate to leave Russia ... and as such has reportedly gone on strike. To be fair, if Robbie Keane is worth £20M then Zenit do have a point about his "under" valuation ... but expect this one to drag on right up until the window closes.

A few more rumours- no guarantees these are true:

Chelsea have made a £20M bid for Robinho, but Real are reluctant to let him go at all ... and certainly not for £20M.

Everton are about to smash their transfer record by offering £13M for Joao Moutinho of Portugal.

Robinho is going to follow Arshavins example and revolt at Real if they don't sell him to Chelsea ... handbags lads;)

Spurs will be snubbed by David Villa ... which means if they don't secure Arshavin, and lose Berbatov to Man Utd they're looking a bit lightweight up front having already lost Keane.

Newcastle are ready to splash out £10M+ on Argentine Fabricio Coloccini ... although I'd insist he comes with a much needed hair cut as part of the contract negotiations if I was Keegan!

Everton are splashing out again ... offering £6M+ for Cameroon International Stephane Mbia.

Aston Villa are favourite to land Younes Kaboul from Spurs ahead of Portsmouth

Middlesbrough are targeting Arsenal defender Just Hoyte as a replacement for Luke Young.

Roy Keane will be splashing out again soon in an attempt to sign Kevin Doyle to boost his squad up front.

News this week:

Fulham have completed their signing of Andy Johnson from Everton for £10.5M.

Nicky Shorey and Luke Young have joined Aston Villa from Reading and Middlesbrough respectively.

Bolton have signed Danny S(h)ittu from Watford.

I just hope Tottenham sign Andrei, it'll be great to have a new player to replace Dimiter Berbatov (if he moves)
