As we celebrated earlier in the week, France have come out on top of the Overall Nation Leaderboard for the Battle of the Nations feature.

How did they do it and what else can we learn about them from the leaderboards? Let’s have a closer look at France’s statistics.

France came well ahead of Spain, who were in second place, by over 350 points. That’s the biggest gap between any two teams in the top 20, so their victory is truly decisive.

On the Overall Xbox 360 table, SANTIAGS, supporting France, came 3rd. He contributed more points for France than any other player on the Xbox 360 – no other gamers supporting France appear in the top 20 for the 360.

It’s a different story on the Overall PS3 table. Three gamers supporting France appeared in the top 20 – youngblood6890 in 9th place, ced-roc in 15th and gomgommis at number 18. Between them, their overall total points add up to 38,050.

If all those points had been scored by one player, he or she would have been in second place on the PS3 table. So that three-man team was clearly very significant in getting France to the Overall Nation top spot.

Each of those three concentrated on different game modes – gomgommis focused on Kick Off (Team), ced-roc on the Euro Online Knockout Cup and youngblood6890, who played a pretty even spread, focused mainly on the two Kick Off modes.

There was at least one player supporting France in the top ten of every single mode on both consoles. In UEFA EURO 2008 mode on the Xbox 360, there were an impressive six players supporting France in the top 20.
