EURO 2008 Round 3 Round Up
The group stages have now come to a close and EURO 2008 steps up a gear. Mistakes become far costlier and the cracks start to show now.
I suppose the biggest surprise would be France not making it through the ?Group of Death? with the Italians snatching the last qualifying spot in the final game. Romania can count themselves unlucky, but a rampant Dutch side were simply too good for them on the night.
EURO 2004 winners Greece were sent home early on after a very difficult game with Russia. Sweden unable to get the draw they needed against Spain which means Spain and Russia both qualify.
Portugal?s ?B? Team didn?t quite perform against Switzerland but had already qualified. Turkey join them in the Quarter finals after an amazing last minute comeback against the Czechs.
Germany and Croatia qualify from group B, both winning their final games. Questions are now being asked about the Germans after their defeat to Croatia, but you never can write them off.
