The first round of games are now over and boy what a tournament EURO 2008 is turning out to be! A fairly predictable round of games however, with only a couple surprise results. France looked incredibly shaky against a very resilient Romanian side and Italy are still trying to work out how to enter the stadium I think. They really are missing Fabio Cannavaro.

I think the host nations surprised a lot of people with fairly solid displays. They both gave a strong account of themselves but still showed a lack of firepower. Switzerland suffered a heavy blow losing their best striker and captain Alexander Frei.

We may have also seen the goal of the tournament already too! Sweden?s Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulling out a wonder strike in Sweden?s 2-0 demolition of Greece. He must surely be happy with that effort!

My EURO 2008 tip Spain looked in fine shape against the Russians, with David Villa bagging himself a hat trick, he certainly boosted my Office Fantasy Football Score! It?s going to be a tough competition though with Portugal and Germany booth looking like they could match Spain this year.
