You may be wondering why I’m reviewing a two year old game, well I decided to review this due to the fact that on my last review of UEFA Euro 2008 tru7spes1blk13 left a comment explaining why he thought that the Champions League, World Cup and Euro games were vastly superior to the Fifa games, his reason being that there were less teams to animate and program which makes sense in theory but did EA make it work in practice?
I bought this game when it came out as I was caught up in the carnival that is the World Cup; expecting this game to live up to the same standard as this prestigious tournament. What I got instead was something that would be better suited to accompany the Johnstones Paint Trophy. This game is an insult to the World Cup basically slapping it in the face; did EA play test this before they released this crap onto a Next-Gen Console?
My major problem with this game is that the passes had to be pin point and had to have the exact amount of power, now for a casual gamer how is that convenient? Most people who bought this game would have played this with their friends on a local connection, so clearly EA is not catering for a younger or relaxed audience with this game. How could they when the game is incredibly frustrating, slow and awkward, not to mention it is nearly impossible to score in a one-on-one situation with a Goalkeeper on a tough difficulty? Even the Solomon Islands keeper plays like Gordon Banks or Pat Jennings. That is why the challenge when you have to beat the Solomon Islands 7-0 with Australia is by far one of the toughest. Once you score, their team keep the ball like there are ten Ronaldinhos on the pitch.
Now for my constant barrage of how bad this game is. It has one good feature - the store where you can buy Legend players, Old Shirts, an array of footballs and Cheats.
You may have noticed I didn’t comment on the online play. This is because I played it once and was so sickened I didn’t think it deserved a mention, but I thought it better to warn people - it is awful. If there was one reason to make me hate technology and become Amish it is the online play for 2006 Fifa World Cup.
Now to finish my review I will give it 2/10 DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!

Hope you enjoyed my review. If there is any game you want me to review please leave a comment on this or my other blog and I will be happy to do it.

Thanks,
Clinton
